Change to opening hours

To all Members,

As you may have seen we have changed the opening hours of the club starting from Monday 29th July 2024. We are now closing on a Tuesday night and opening slightly later on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

The reason for these changes.

Tuesdays over the last couple of months have been extremely quiet to the extent that we rarely take more than £0 – £40 for the whole night. This means we don’t even cover the wages let alone electricity and so on. Therefore, we believe it is in the best interest of the club financially to shut on Tuesday. However, we will keep this under review.

Opening later on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Again, on these nights we take very little in revenue for the first hour.  Therefore it doesn’t make sense and we need to be in control of our outgoings and minimise waste were possible.

Memberships

On Monday the committee voted unanimously to change the membership in accordance with the club’s rules.

We have changed the membership that anyone joining has a full 12-month membership from the month they join.

Reason for the change is to encourage people to join, at the moment our system discourages people joining as if you pay to join in July, you will then have to pay again in September…!!  Why would anyone do that as it clearly doesn’t make sense. We are now in line with the majority of clubs and what most people would expect. We have a system in place so when a membership ends the door fob will stop working. An email will be sent out reminding members their membership needs renewing etc.
